microdermabraziune Cluj - clinica estetica infrumusetare

The procedure behind a glowing, velvety, blemish-free complexion.

Whether you are looking to refresh your skin's texture, improve your overall appearance or are dealing with skin problems such as pigmentation spots or post acne scars, MDA is the right procedure for all skin types.

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion (MDA) is a minimally invasive procedure (a mechanical peel) to resurface the epidermis, used to treat uneven skin tone/texture, photoaging, striae, striae, melasma and scars, including post-scarring. It is one of the most commonly performed non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
For best results, it can be combined with light peels, LED or other procedures.

What are the benefits of microdermabrasion?

  • Improved skin "glow", smoothing, texturizing (by removing dead cells)
  • Low pore visibility
  • Decreased sebum level: noticed immediately after the procedure
  • Decreased skin stiffness
  • Increased skin firmness and thickness
  • In people with melasma: reducing pigmentation spots
  • Improvement of scars/striations
  • Improve fine wrinkles
  • Slowing the ageing process (by stimulating collagen and elastin production)
  • Boosting the supply of oxygen and nutrients to cells
  • Stimulation of blood and lymphatic circulation.

How does microdermabrasion work?

During the procedure, abrasive crystals are propelled against the skin under the control of a vacuum system. The crystals cause gentle mechanical abrasion of the skin, which eventually removes the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin). As part of the wound healing process, a new epidermis is formed with improved cosmetics. The technique is considered safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types and complications are minimal.

MDA increases the density of collagen fibers at the dermo-epidermal junction and helps wound healing. Studies have also shown improved skin permeability and improved delivery of transdermal drugs dosed to an area of skin treated with MDA (due to removal of the superficial skin layer).

Microdermabrasion devices are categorized as either crystal or non-crystal systems. The crystal-based system propels the abrasive crystals into the skin at a predetermined flow rate. The most commonly used crystal is aluminum oxide. In crystal-free systems -diamonds embedded in the handpiece provide the abrasive stimulus. Surface debris and the stratum corneum of the cells are removed and the particles collect in a reservoir. A single treatment usually requires three passes over the treated area. The degree of removal of the stratum corneum depends on the flow rate of the crystal and the exposure time of the procedure.

How many sessions are needed?

Depending on the problems they are experiencing, patients often require between 2-10 treatments every 1-2 weeks to achieve the desired results.

Possible complications of microdermabrasion

  • Side effects are minimal and most patients have no side effects
  • Tenderness, swelling, redness and bruising
  • Eye irritation can occur if crystals come into contact with the conjunctiva
  • Autoinoculation of viral skin lesions (e.g. molluscum contagiosum)
  • Reactivation of latent herpes simplex virus in an affected dermatome
